Government for the People
Below are our recommendations for the February 5th Ballot Measures and Republican Primary Presidential Election. Vote Yes on 91 Transportation Funds
Some of the propositions for this election are particularly difficult to make recommendations on and will have tremendous consequences in the future.
We recommend a no vote on all other ballot measures.
No on Prop 92 Community Colleges. Funding. Governance. Fees.:
After serving in the U.S. Navy for ten years, I went to
One item in the Proponents information that is particularly troubling “We work at minimum wage jobs so we can afford books, pay rent, raise families . . . and finish college.”. If someone is planning on going to college, then they should not already have a family to raise. These people should not have made the poor decisions that got them into a difficult situation, so they should look to their extended family to lend a hand, at least then their family can hold them accountable.
NO! NO! NO! on Prop 93 Term Limit Extensions:
Prop 93 is a completely deceptive ballot measure that will actually result in the extensions of terms of the current legislators that got us in another financial mess. Just four short years after the previous huge budget deficits, rather than control spending, they spent all of the Housing Bubble money and more. Should they be rewarded by giving them more time in the Assembly and Senate? Time in the Legislature should only be extended if we have fair districts where the voters pick their representatives instead of the current system where the so-called representatives pick their voters.
No on Prop 94-97 Selective Expansion of Indian Gaming:
In is troubling the influence that these four tribes already possess. They were able to buy the support of the California Republican Party and were able to get the California Democrat Party to stay neutral in spite of the fact that most Democrat organizations are opposed to this measure. Grass roots organizations, such as the Los Angeles County Federation of Republican Women oppose these measures.
The claims of funds sent to the state are in all likelihood exaggerated and will also result in a drop in revenue in other places as people loose money at these four Casinos instead of spending money on other things that would have resulted in taxes going to the state. It also does not consider the costs of gambling to take care of those that cannot control gambling addictions, the potential costs due to increases in crimes, and the costs to support the public infrastructure due to the increased traffic to these areas.

No on Measure S:
The phone tax has already been ruled illegal and will likely be struck down shortly. The politicians always on the lookout to take your money put up this deceptive proposition to lower the illegal tax from 10% to 9%, a no vote will eventually result in a 0% tax (no tax). With support waning, they are falling back to the political cowardly act of threatening police and firefighting budget cuts. How about we cut the political insider deals that result in campaign donations instead?
Walter Moore, who is running for Los Angeles Mayor is a major spokesman for the no campaign.

Presidential Recommendation: Governor Mitt Romney, www.MittRomney.com
Our recommendations are based on:
Economy
+++ Governor Romney – A successful business owner, saved the Winter Olympics from financial disaster, got the state of
- Senator McCain - John McCain opposed President Bush’s tax cuts that resulted in more revenue, now he has flipped positions after it was shown to work.
Immigration and Border Security
+++ Governor Romney – Secure the borders, no amnesty, no benefits for those here illegally. Illegal immigrants have to leave and get in the back of the line that starts in their country of origin.
-- Senator McCain – Originally for open borders, now say he will secure the borders. If he truly isn’t for securing the border, will it get done? Co-authored McCain-Kennedy - amnesty for illegal aliens at the expense of Americans, especially the poor which is a large percentage of the black community.
War on Terror
+Governor Romney – As stated in the economy section, the economy is the basis in any successful war on islamo-fascists. Romney has the temperament and executive experience to utilize all inputs and come to an optimal solution in the complicated situation that we are in. Contrary to false statements, Romney supported the troop surge.
+Senator McCain – Served our country in
Judicial Appointments
+++ Governor Romney - "Today, too many of our country's most important issues are being decided by unelected judges. We need men and women who will adhere to the Constitution and the rule of law. Our nation simply cannot afford judges who legislate from the bench, and who are willing to depart from the Constitution to advance a narrow agenda. When we have judges of the intellectual capabilities of Roberts, Alito, Scalia and Thomas who have a demonstrated commitment to following the law and the Constitution, we can preserve our democracy where the American people are guiding our nation …"
-- Senator McCain - Joined with liberals, both Democrat and Republican in the gang of 14 to block President Bush’s Judicial Appointments unless the liberals approved. This tells you what kind of judges he will appoint.
Family Values
+++ Governor Romney - Governor Romney also has the family values that we should be looking for in a President. He has been faithfully married to his wife Ann. They have five sons and 10 grandchildren. We should not be voting based on someone’s religion, but on their respect that we have freedom “of” religion, not freedom “from” religion and “the freedom of practice thereof.”
-- Senator McCain – After returning from
Experience
+++ Governor Romney – As a governor has successfully run a state, a full microcosm of the national structure. Has successfully run businesses and understands how the economy works. Has experience in a successful marriage that sets an example our country desperately needs.
+ Senator McCain – Award hero, served our country proudly. A Senator for 21 years. His legislation of note:
McCain-Feingold -a brazen assault on political speech and grassroots organizations. Feingold is an ultra-liberal democrat.
McCain-Kennedy - amnesty for illegal aliens at the expense of Americans, especially the poor which is a large percentage of the black community. Kennedy is an ultra-liberal democrat.
McCain-Lieberman - "global warming" plan that will destroy American Industry and actually cause more of a worldwide problem as industries continue to move overseas where Congress cannot regulate them.
McCain-Kennedy-Edwards- a huge boon to the trial bar in the guise of a "patients' bill of rights." Again, Kennedy is an ultra-liberal democrat.
McCain-Re-importation of Drugs-a blow to pharmaceutical research and development.
Temperament
+++ Governor Romney – Even tempered. Thoughtful and can maintain his calm in debates even when his opponent is blatantly misrepresenting his positions.
-- Senator McCain – Stands for his convictions but is extremely explosive. In the past, McCain has referred to Vladimir Putin (the President of Russia) as the “President of Germany”! How is that for our foreign relations? McCain was rebuked by the U.S. Senates Ethics Committee for exercising “Poor Judgment” in the Keating 5 Savings and Loan scandal.
Note: Mike Huckabee is only running to help derail the Romney campaign in this election. Since
Note: Ron Paul has some very good things to say and I am glad that he has been in the race to educate the voters; unfortunately this is not his time. I am hoping that his supporters will take another look at Governor Romney, who has grown over the campaign and would be a far better President than any media pushed candidate.
Governor Mitt Romney is our overall best choice of the remaining viable candidates in either party. (Note: Our first choice was California Congressman Duncan Hunter.)
Most of our staff met Governor Romney in a small group setting in 2006 and we have spoken with two of his sons and also spoken with a nephew that resides in
Governor Romney is the closest to the Reagan legacy and that, we believe, is why the media is after him. It is our belief that Governor Romney will be able to unite the American People after a victory in November, just as President Reagan was able to do. We believe that he will succeed in the fight against islamo-fascists just as President Reagan succeeded in winning the cold war.
The liberal media has been trying to pick our candidates for us. They are
close to succeeding. Example, the media buried the fact that Duncan Hunter won the Texas Straw Poll. More recently, they continue to promote their liberal choices (Clinton, Obama, McCain) and do everything in their power to harm Governor Romney. Example, you seldom hear that Governor Romney won not only
