Illegal Immigration

Illegal immigration is the number one issue facing Southern California!

* Overcrowded emergency rooms and many are closing * Rising healthcare costs

* Overcrowded prisons * Overcrowded schools * Housing crunch

* Highway congestion* Displaced Lower Wage Earners

Our borders must be secured. We must enforce laws on the books by fining employers that hire illegal immigrants.  Allow the border patrol to do its job finding and deporting those entering the country illegally.  And we must stop providing benefits to those here illegally.

The economic impact on California of an estimated 3 million illegal aliens crossing the U.S. border each year is tremendous.  It is straining our resources, impacting our lives, and putting us at risk.  Terrorists can easily get into our country.

Rising Healthcare Costs

Seven emergency rooms, trauma centers, or complete hospitals have closed in the last year, with more to follow.  The culprit is the high cost of providing services to the uninsured.  What the papers, news channels and politicians will not tell you is that most of the uninsured are. . . illegal immigrants.  If we do not get a handle on this there will not be any emergency rooms or trauma centers in L.A.County as one hospital after another closed its doors because it cannot continue to finance the losses.

Overcrowded Prisons

According to Sheriff Lee Baca, 25% of the prison population is illegal immigrants.  You would think that upon their release they would be deported, but the usual case is they are released into the general public.  Lee Baca whines about not having enough money, he could start saving millions of dollars by deporting criminal illegal aliens.

Overcrowded Schools

In L.A., according to Former School Superintendent Roy Romer, 40% of the students are English language learners (ELL).  The majority of these students are illegal immigrants or children of illegal immigrants; overwhelmingly our schools are stretching their resources to the limits.  California spends approximately $6,000 per year, per student, of taxpayer money.  These resources could be used to provide adequate full time counselors and nurses at each school, to fully fund after school programs, and to bring back art and music programs to all schools.

Illegal immigration is impacting all phases of life in Southern California, and if we do not address it soon, it will be too late.
